Every year we have hundreds of acorns fall to the ground on our property. The mice and squirrels eat their fill, and last year there were so many in abundance the entire area saw an upswing in mouse population (ick!). Thankfully, we saw an equal upswing in rat snake population. But anyway, given the fact that our entire backyard is covered in acorns, the kids and I would like to find something fun and interesting to do with them.

Now, I will admit that we live on the front of a nature preserve, but I’ve also heard that if you have acorns — you have acorns by the plenty. So for all the other acorn-overrun moms out there, I’m sharing our list.

Do you have an abundance of acorns in your yard this fall? If so, why not put them to creative use? Here is a great list of acorn themed crafts for your kids this fall.

Here’s what we’ve found so far. These are all fabulous acorn-themed crafts for kids to make.
