For several years now, I’ve been saying – Why doesn’t anyone publish a really good Christian children’s animal encyclopedia book.  We have at least six varieties of animal encyclopedias on our bookshelf — so clearly these kinds of books are good sellers.  But, not one of them was based on a Christian world-view.  Until now.

The World of Animals by My Father’s World and Master Books is beautiful with full color graphics, full size illustrations, and tons of information presented.  Beginning with an overview of the kingdoms and an introduction to the animal kingdom, the book guides the reader threw each division of animals and includes the most well-loved animals as well as quite a few little known animals. My children love this book.

But the very best thing about this book is the Biblical point of reference for every bit of information. You do not have to reword this book on the fly to rid it of evolutionary overtones or propaganda. You will read Bible verses about creation and various animals directly from the page. But, you won’t get hit over the head with creation either because the book is about the animals.

My Bottom Line: I expect I will be buying copies of this book as Christmas gifts for nieces and nephews. It’s gorgeous.  If you have elementary or junior high aged children you need this book.  This book receives my very highest recommendation.

Disclaimer:  I received this book for free from the publisher as part of the New Leaf Publishing Book Reviewers program with the expectation that I would post an honest review on my blog.  Here you have it.  No other compensation was received.
