A few weeks ago, I spruced up my old post about Halloween celebrations at church events with Jack-O-Lanterns and such. I pinned it to Pinterest with a nifty new image and suddenly that post went wild! It wasn’t really about the whys and wherefores though. It was about Halloween at church. However, judging from the huge number of comments I got both for and against Halloween, I planned to write up a post explaining my position. However, I started listening to a few of my friends and realized many of them had already written some great posts about this holiday. So if you are interested in finding out what brings people to the choice to abstain from Halloween, or you are interested in some alternatives to celebrating the holiday here are some links for your reading pleasure.

Looking for alternatives to help you celebrate Halloween? Here are 10 perspectives on the subject.

Thank you so much for including me. I went back and forth about publishing this post because I try very hard to make my blog a place that brings peace. But I felt like the Holy Spirit was leading me to state my truth is love. I’ve had other parents tell me they wish they could abstain from Halloween but they don’t know how. They now know they are not alone!

Thank you for posting this post! I too, recently posted an article on my own blog explaining why there is no Christ in Halloween no matter how we as Christians try to spin it and was shy about sharing it because I wasn’t looking forward to the pushback and vitriol I would receive. It’s a comfort to know I don’t stand alone and that there are other believers courageous enough to stand for truth!

[…] I’ve seen other bloggers say, we aren’t steeped in legalism at all. We’ve had a personal conviction about the celebration of Halloween in our family, and our conviction need not impact you at all, unless you have had a similar […]
