Today, my big kids were going to see the premier of Star Wars Rogue One, and I was looking for something fun to do with my little boys since they aren’t old enough to see Star Wars in the theater. One of the things we decided to do was join our local homeschool group caroling at the assisted living facility near where we live. I was surprised to find out that a couple of my big kids were sad to miss out on caroling with the group. (Though not sad enough to miss Star Wars!)

When we started talking about which songs would be sung, the little boys were very confused how they would know what to sing and getting teased by the older siblings about not knowing the Christmas carols. I said something casually to my oldest two about wondering how they learned all the Christmas carols! The fifteen-year-old said “Hello, it’s called Advent. That’s how I learned them. Because you make us sing with you.

What jumped out at me about this conversation was not the part about the carols, but the part about Advent. Aha! They are hearing and listening and learning the things we teach during the month of December. I’ve never been sure how much they were absorbing.

One of the things we do each night as we Celebrate Jesus during Advent is color a related coloring page from our list of Christian Christmas Coloring Pages. Coloring is a physical activity that helps engage the brains of our younger kids and our kinesthetic learners. It gives our easily distracted kiddos something to focus on too!

That’s why I am so excited to finally be in the position to release our second exclusive coloring page designed by my friend Lisa Walters. The reason is because this one is so special. It is a coloring page of the Nativity. Mary, Joseph, and the Baby Jesus. And it is just for you! Fill out the form below and our coloring page will be delivered to your inbox!
