When we started transitioning my youngest daughter to a gluten-free diet when she was three, I don’t think we had any idea what we were in for. Anna has been gluten-free, dairy-free for eight years of her life, and gluten-free for eleven years. She has tried gluten a few times in the past year but it just ends up making her feel sick and itchy.

We made a commitment way back then to make sure she didn’t have to sacrifice quality in the food she eats. That doesn’t always mean it tastes the same, but we refuse to buy the bread that tastes (literally) like sandpaper. My husband tasted everything and still often tastes new GF products just to make sure they are not nasty.

We’ve learned which brands we can trust for high quality gluten-free substitute products.

But, we’ve also learned to really focus on what we can all eat as a family that is made from scratch and gluten-free. That means we eat lots of meals with rice instead of bread. And we love to find delicious dessert recipes that aren’t loaded with gluten – that’s understandably one of the most difficult things to sacrifice.

This collection of Valentine’s Day Desserts is not only gluten-free, it also includes several Paleo, low carb, grain-free, and vegan options.

Looking for the perfect Valentine's Day food to satisfy a sweet tooth? Take a look at these Gluten Free Dessert ideas for that special someone.
