Nothing makes me feel more put together than to throw a few holiday touches into my clothing choices during the month of December. Usually, it’s just a few random red or burgundy shirts that I manage to actually wash and wear a few times in December. But I’d like to do more than that.
I’d like to actually have awesome accessories to add to any outfit for a little Christmas sparkle. What can I add to my normal wardrobe to give my outfits a little Holiday BLING? That’s one of my goals this year.
It’s really interesting how my taste changes year to year – the older I get and the more “adulting” I have to do. I’m a mom. I’m not skinny. I might have very stupidly worn 4″ heels for my wedding, but you are never going to see me in 4″ gold heels at Christmas time. Moms need PRACTICAL when it comes to fashion. But that doesn’t mean we don’t like good fashion!
This is my wish list of practical, form-meets-function accessories to dress up any outfit for Christmas and be happy with the holiday sparkle.
Gold Shoes
I have quite a few friends who LOVE Toms shoes, rave about them on social media, and wear them until they literally fall to pieces years and years after purchase. They are apparently very comfortable and very durable. I don’t have a pair myself, but I was thrilled to discover that they have a pair of gold shoes perfect for almost any holiday MOM occasion.
A Gold Belt
Everyone is talking about Lula Roe right now, and I’ve noticed that quite a few of the Lula Roe pieces look much BETTER with a belt. How about a sparkly gold belt? Or red. Or green. Or even shiny silver. This is definitely a statement piece that says holiday shine.
Christmas Earrings
One of the things my daughter loves to do during Christmas is dress up her outfits with fun holiday earrings like these cute red earrings I just found. Earrings are an EASY accessory to add holiday sparkle without going overboard!

This is something you can literally add to ANY outfit for a little holiday cheer. So often the old-fashioned brooch is cheesy or unfashionable, but who doesn’t like this little reminder that it’s Christmas? I especially loved this beautiful thing I found for elegance, class, and sparkle.

Every mom needs a purse for all the miscellany we carry around or rescue over the course of the day. (Mom, I’m too tired to carry this one-of-a-kind LEGO mini figure around the store anywhere, can I PuhLease put it in your purse?)

This is so cute! I normally judge my purse on whether I can fit an extra change of clothes for my 4yr old and how many books it will hold. It would be so nice to have a smaller, pretty purse sometimes.

Gold is such a versible color to jazz up any outfit. I do not yet have a gold purse, this would fill that vacancy. I have so many homeschool bags, and mommy purses, but not a “me” purse.
