A man of God I once knew died. What his family found after he was gone will take your breath away. He was fairly young, and died unexpectedly. He left behind a bereaved wife, six children, two brothers, a sister and his mother. I cannot imagine having one of my siblings die young. How very sad that day would be!

What this precious family found in the days following the man’s death is nothing short of beautiful.

His prayer journals.

Thirty years of prayer journals, labeled and boxed. Simply kept with a date, a prayer, and God’s response with a second date.

Can you imagine sitting around a box of prayer journals of your own loved one? How amazing would it be to gather around and ask questions.

“I wonder what Dad prayed about my engagement?”

“I wonder what Grandpa prayed when I was born?”

“I wonder what Dad prayed about my husband’s cancer?”

“I wonder what Dad prayed for when I was going through a rough spot in high school?”

“I wonder how Dad prayed when his own dad died?”

And to know without a shadow of doubt that your dad did indeed pray for you all of those things and more — more then you ever even knew. And that he cared enough about each item on his list that he came back and wrote God’s answer — sometimes years later!

This family did not just find the legacy of a godly man. They found the faithfulness of God displayed throughout his entire life and preserved in written form for future generations.

What an amazing legacy.

There's nothing better you can do for your family than to pray for them. It will leave a legacy that will last. Included in this post are FREE printable prayer journals.

Today, I’m asking you. What will your children, grandchildren, siblings, or perhaps even your parents discover when you are gone? What will they remember?

What will your legacy be?

–> Please download these prayer journaling pages as our gift to you. <–

In that spot you should write down how God responded to your prayer request. 🙂
