I just found out the easiest way to peel garlic cloves — microwave them first! Once you microwave a garlic clove for about 30 seconds the clove will pop right out of the peel and be ready for mincing or throwing into your Vitamix or blender with a marinade. I put ten or twelve in the microwave at a time for this recipe, but you could put 30 in at a time! This dramatically cut my preparation time. Have you ever tried to peel twelve cloves of garlic by hand? I have and it is not pretty! (Nor does it smell very good.)

Thanks for the tip! It’ll certainly make Chicken with 40 cloves of garlic a whole lot easier.

I really need to get a microwave, at least a small one for things like this.
    Thank you,

The other thing we use the microwave for all the time is cooking rice. That way I don’t have to use my stove burners for rice and I can fill them up with all the other things. I can’t imagine doing without my microwave because we use it almost daily to cook rice. But a small one would not work for that application LOL. I use a big, big bowl and cook four cups of rice at a time.

Sounds pretty awesome. I don’t have a microwave, but am tempted to get one for reasons like this!
