Six Reasons You Might Want to Order Your Groceries To Go

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Food Lion. All opinions are 100% mine.

Have you heard of this trend? Until recently, I had no idea I could get my groceries to go. It’s an incredible concept when you think about it. Punch in your order on an app right on your phone as you go through your day, and pick it up on your way home at night! I love that Food Lion is offering this service now. Groceries-to-go is a real thing that makes my life so much easier. Here are six reasons you might want to consider ordering your groceries online.

You might want to order your groceries to go because you are busy. Yes, I’m stating the obvious, but it is so true. School is starting, soccer is starting, and life is about to get even crazier as summer comes to an end. We are all so busy! Instead of spending twenty minutes driving to the store, an hour and a half walking through the store, and another twenty minutes driving home, you can actually have your groceries delivered to your door now when you choose Online Shopping with pick up or delivery. And the delivery fee isn’t much more than the pickup fee!

You might want to order your groceries to go because you don’t have time. This is slightly different because there are weeks when I literally cannot fit a trip to the grocery store into my schedule anywhere. That’s more than just busy. On those weeks when I have no time to spare at all, grocery delivery is a lifesaver. Because who doesn’t get sick of drive-thrus?

You might want to order your groceries to go because you want to save money. Use the Food Lion to Go app to shop Weekly deals as you do your menu planning, so now you are saving time and money. Everything you need to plan and shop is all in one place. No more combing through paper ads, copying a list of sale items by hand, clipping coupons, planning the menu, and shopping in a thousand different steps. It’s all right there.

You might want to order your groceries to go because you need groceries yesterday. I’m in this situation. We’ve been moving for what feels like a year. In reality, we got to our new home about five days ago. My refrigerator is empty. My freezer is empty. My cabinets are pretty bare. I need to restock the shelves, but I also need to unpack all the boxes, get the oldest two kids off to college, get ready for school starting in two weeks, take care of mail forwarding and for so many other reasons, I needed a full grocery run five days ago. Ordering grocery delivery fills a huge need for those of us moving or experiencing some other major life shift.

You might want to order your groceries to go because you prefer technology over aisles and carts and shoppers. I mean, let’s face it, there is something so incredibly cool about using a smartphone app to choose, order, and pay for all the grocery items we need. Makes me feel all techy and smart!

You might want to order your groceries to go because you are forgetful. Using the app to fill your cart as you think of the things you need is so handy for those of us who struggle remembering why we just walked into a room, let alone remembering that a child just asked for a new deodorant. Now, at least one of those things can go into my cart right away and not be forgotten later.

Take advantage of the Food Lion To Go App and let someone else do your shopping! Also, make sure you check out the Food Lion Recipes for fuss-free food your family will love.

See these pretty little plants playing peekaboo? I See these pretty little plants playing peekaboo? I thought they were goners. See, my sister gave us the bulbs for Asiatic Lillies for Christmas last year, down in a bag full of dirt and told us to take them home and plant them in the cold so they would rest and come back next year. Or freeze them. I did neither. I knew we weren’t in our own home yet, and we were hoping to move into our forever home this summer, so I threw them in the closet and waited. They stayed dormant, and started to develop roots in the Spring, still in the bag in my closet. Come June 5, we moved into our new house, and I pulled out the bag around June 15 to plant them and found that the roots were turning to mush. The bulbs were starting to rot. I planted them anyway, but to make matters worse, I accidentally planted them upside down because I thought the roots were actually sprouts. Oops. Then, I hired my boys and their friends to weed the bed where these are planted and forgot to tell them to leave these alone. The “sprouts” disappeared. I thought they were gone forever. Here it is the middle of August, and a week or so ago, I found these baby Asiatic Lillies coming up. I texted a pic to my sis to ask if this was what they look like. Sure enough after all that trauma, this gift survived. I won’t have blooms this year, but I’m told they will come back next year and survive to bloom. What a sweet blessing that will be, God willing. And a sweet reminder to persevere under trials and hardship. God is doing something bigger, something hidden, something better than we can ever imagine. Hang in there! #momlife #momfierce #momforthewin #firmlyplanted
Today I’ve been sorting through some heavy stuff Today I’ve been sorting through some heavy stuff, especially the unmasking of pedophilia and it’s prominence in the US and in our backyards. This horrifies and frightens me. I am so grateful to know that God will prevail. In the end, He wins. Everything seems so dark here in the US and it’s because of the spiritual forces of evil — but I know God will prevail. His love never fails. I’m putting my hope in this truth. #loveneverfails #godwins #godisgreater #momlife #momfierce

There are so many things I need to tell you about There are so many things I need to tell you about this picture. First #sheisloved campaign with @mercyhouseglobal and sheispriceless.org - check that out it’s important. Second - that cute bracelet came from @mercyhouseglobal about a month ago and *didn’t fit*. Today it’s loose enough to twist. I haven’t lost a lot of pounds according to the scale — I kinda stalled out three or four weeks ago at 17 pounds lost — but apparently I’m losing fat. That’s a victory. Third, my hands look like my moms and will some day look like my grandmas. I consider that a blessing. Finally, it’s been a beautiful day😍 but I’m kinda sad it took me this long to find a red marker and share the love. If you have one handy, it’s not too late to jump on board with @wearethatfamily and be a world-changer! #worldchanger #momfierce #prayformoms #especiallyteenmomsinkenya #mymomrocks
