Re-thinking what is most important has given me a renewed passion for helping share the gospel. I was up for hours Saturday night thinking about what I would change if I knew Jesus was coming back in the very near future. As I consider where I am going to spend my time during the next week, month, and year, I have realized that I cannot continue to blog at all if I am not going to reach out to people with the Good News of Jesus Christ, crucified, buried and resurrected on the third day. One of the ways I am approaching this new focus is through providing you with resources to talk about the Gospel with your own children.

When is the last time you talked with your kids about the Gospel? It's important and something that we need to be intentional about. Take a look at a few resources to help you add the Gospel naturally to your everyday conversation with your kids.

Because, honestly, I haven’t been telling my kids about the Good News of Jesus Christ nearly enough or as well as I should have been. I need to step up to the plate and parent as a more intentional Christian. I’m looking for and creating resources that can help me! I started this morning by talking to my little five-year-olds about Jesus and heaven.

Every morning, they come climb in my bed to get a little cuddle time before they start the day. This morning, we had the most interesting conversation about Jesus, and heaven, and what heaven looks like, and what hell looks like — it is absolutely precious what five-year-olds will start thinking-out-loud when you start a deep conversation with them!

When is the last time you talked with your kids about the Gospel?

This evening as I put the boys to bed, I took a few minutes to warn them that we may not be able to go to the pool tomorrow because the air-conditioner repairman is coming between 10 and 2. If he comes closer to 10, we can still go. But if he comes at 2, we won’t make it. I suggested they pray about it. My eight-year-old asked if I would lead them in a prayer, so I did.

It’s such a small thing, but it communicates that God wants to be a part of even the smallest of things. Tomorrow, we are going to talk about some of my missionary friends living in third-countries without air-conditioning OR pools so that they can share the Gospel message.

I’m not trying to force these conversations, I want them to be natural outpourings of a life lived for Jesus. All in For Jesus.

Here are some of the unique resources I have found in my search:

Laying the Foundation: The Apostles Creed from Intoxicated on Life

New Testament Bible Reading Journal from Kids in the Word

God Loves You by Shirley Dobson — I’ve used these little coloring books with my big kids back when they were little, but somehow I had forgotten about them. I just ordered two more for the twins. This one is just the salvation message.

My Bible Coloring Book by Shirley Dobson – all of the coloring pages in one big book.
