This winter we finally got our first air cleaner. It’s called the Venta Airwasher (model LW45). Not only does it clean the air it also humidifies the air at the same time. Since my doctor had just told me in October that I need to have more humidifiers in my home and not just the one attached to my furnace, this was really good timing for me. After just a few months of use, I truly believe the Venta Airwashers are the best air purifiers and humidifiers for home or business use.

We set the Venta Airwasher up in my living room right away. We have a pretty open floor plan so the large size was perfect for our main floor and that’s where I spend most of my time. Shortly after we got the purifier set up, it was time to haul out the Christmas decorations. I moved my Venta Airwasher to the dining area because it had been sitting right where we put our tree each year.

That’s when I started getting sick. We actually noticed on the day we pulled the decorations out — it seemed like I had developed an allergy to all the Christmas decorations, especially the fake tree we use each year. After a few days of sneezing, itchy allergy attacks any time I sat near the Christmas tree in my favorite chair, I decided to bring the Venta back into the larger open area in our living room. I actually put it right in front of the tree for several days. We all noticed a difference in my allergy symptoms almost immediately.

The Venta Airwasher is very easy to use. You take the top half off and fill the bottom half with water up to the line on the inside. Then you set the top half back on and restart the system. The first time you use it and every two weeks afterward, you will add the prescribed amount of the Venta Water Treatment Additive that comes with your Airwasher. You also need to clean your Venta with the Venta Cleaner once every six months.

In our home, running on the highest level (of three) when we fill it all the way to the line it will keep purifying the air for about 24 hours. My boys like to take short cuts and only fill it with one gallon of water at a time instead of the three or so it will hold. Speaking of the boys, I’ve made refilling the Airwasher the job of my eleven-year-old. He has no problems filling or restarting this device. When he’s not available, I will have one of the teenagers take care of it instead.

In order to be properly ventilated for air flow, the sides of the Venta Airwasher do have to be situated about 1.5 feet distance from walls or furniture. This particular model (The Kuubel LW45) will purify and humidify up to 800 square feet with an open floor plan. The Airwasher works without filters and is so extremely quiet. I forget it’s even sitting there until I notice the red light that means it needs refilled! We definitely notice a lot of sediment from the air trapped in the bottom of our Airwasher when we clean it out.

We are pleased to keep using the Venta Airwasher in our home and pleased to recommend it as well.
