It’s National Cookie Day here in the U.S. It’s also December 4th which means we’ve started Christmas baking in full force. Makes sense right? December is the perfect time for baking cookies of all kinds. My mom used to spend days baking cookies to prepare for a party we sponsored as a family at our church. Hundreds and hundreds of cookies. The memories of those weeks are among my favorites – baking and teamwork with my mom and sisters all working towards a common cookie goal!
Any time is a great time to bake cookies. We enjoy them year round, once or twice a month. But in December. In December, we bake! And we are always buying Christmas cookie magazine editions and looking for new and fabulous cookie recipes and easy cookie recipes like these to add to our favorites. That’s why I’m super excited about the cookies on this list – the best cookie recipes we could find online to share.
This year National Cookie Day happened to fall on a Sunday. On Sundays we are super busy with church and AWANA, so we opted to celebrate on December 1st instead. The kids took turns in pairs, helping make different batches of cookies to enjoy later. Some of the big kids helped more than once, and my gluten-free girl made her very own batch all on her own. We’ll keep baking cookies all month, but it was fun to focus on it for one whole day!
