Making Gluten Free Mixes Better (Betty Crocker Gluten Free White Cake mix)

by Amy Blevins 5 Comments

I discovered a few weeks ago that the Betty Crocker Gluten Free White Cake mix makes a very nice muffin. In that case we added cinnamon to the batter and brown sugar to the top. I didn't take pictures, but I kept the idea in mind because those muffins tasted better then our regular muffins. This time, I decided to add strawberries and a strawberry glaze so that Anna's muffins mirrored exactly what Continue Reading >>

Strawberry Whole Grain Muffins with Glaze

by Amy Blevins 5 Comments

Yesterday I pinned about twenty pinterest pics of recipes for rhubarb hoping to get inspired to use up my stash. Last night I took a Green Tea supplement at supper and it had so much caffeine I could not sleep. All night I lay in bed thinking about how I would make these homemade rhubarb muffins for breakfast. Much to my surprise, when I got up this morning no rhubarb could be found. Apparently my Continue Reading >>

Baked Fresh Veggie Mix

by Amy Blevins 1 Comment

Curriculum Review: Write Shop Primary A

by Amy Blevins 2 Comments

When I asked my daughter which of her writing projects was her favorite she picked this one. The title is supposed to be My Favorite Animal, but apparently I left the title off for some reason. We started with Write Shop Primary A for my eight-year-old daughter a couple months ago. We have not done any formal writing lessons with Anna before now because her fine motor skills are so poor due to Continue Reading >>

Homeschool with E-Books!

by Amy Blevins 2 Comments

E-Books. How do you feel about e-books yourself? I've learned that the e-book phenomenon is a polarizing topic of conversation. Surprisingly, I find myself somewhere in the middle. Some books work extremely well as e-books. Other books I just prefer to have in print. It's a mixed bag. E-Reader Books My favorite kind of e-books are the ones I can enjoy reading on my Kindle (any e-reading Continue Reading >>

E-Product Review: NaturExplorers Books by Shining Dawn Books

by Amy Blevins 24 Comments

When you open a NaturExplorers e-book from Shining Dawn books, you immediately notice the beautiful colors and neatly designed text.  Neat text is essential to a good e-book - who wants to scroll through pages of hard-to-read information?  Nevertheless, after scrolling for a few minutes and getting a glimpse of the first few notebooking pages included in this book, I printed the whole thing and Continue Reading >>
