Product Review: ReadingEggs.com

by Amy Blevins 2 Comments

Learning to read is not always easy! Sometimes, children struggle to sort out the different letters and sounds and keep them all straight on the page. My eight-year-old daughter is just such a child. She wants to read, but for her reading is hard work. I am always on the lookout for ways to entice her to practice reading. Enter Reading Eggs. Reading Eggs is an online reading game. Children Continue Reading >>

Fake Them Out Dip: Use up those winter greens!

by Amy Blevins 7 Comments

Here's the thing. This dip is exactly the same as the spinach and leek dip I posted a couple weeks ago. Only we didn't have spinach. And I have an overabundance of chard. And collard greens. So, I have made it twice now with some variety of chard, and once with collard greens. It still tastes great! You get to use up that CSA produce you don't know what to do with. The greens are very good for Continue Reading >>

Dating the Daddy: How we carve out time for each other

by Amy Blevins 1 Comment

Dating your spouse - making your husband and marriage a priority.

I make every effort to wake up when my husband starts stirring around the room because I know he wants to talk to me about his day, his week, and life Continue Reading >>

Science DVDs are in high demand in the Blevins' household. I am happy to report that my thirteen-year-old science phobic daughter is the biggest fan of the new series Awesome Science with Noah Justice. Noah, a fourteen-year-old homeschooler, and his family produce this great new series which introduces the evidence for Noah's flood and a Biblical timeline present in many of our own national parks Continue Reading >>

Product Review: Awesome Science – Exploring Yellowstone with Noah Justice

by Amy Blevins Leave a comment

Remember my recent post about Science DVDs? I was writing about my favorite Science resource, and how DVDs have been a staple in the Science education of my children. Imagine my delight when I was given the opportunity to review Awesome Science - Exploring Yellowstone with Noah Justice. We get to add to our collection, and from a Young-Earth perspective! I was not going to turn that down. This Continue Reading >>

Butternut Squash Ravioli: Using Produce

by Amy Blevins 2 Comments

My husband had a delicious Butternut Squash Ravioli at Macaroni Garden a few months ago. I enjoyed his food so much that I attempted to replicate it almost immediately at home. My first attempt was good enough that my entire family raved about it. But, I forgot to take pictures, I didn't time the meal real well and some things were cold, and a couple things needed improvement. So, I worked out a Continue Reading >>
